Subject-Based Classroom Zones
A Distinctive Feature of Our School Building: The Subject Classroom System
The subject classroom system is an educational approach in which classrooms are designed specifically to support the learning needs of each academic discipline. This environment allows students to deepen their understanding and develop greater expertise in each subject area.

Social Studies Zone
|
The Social Studies Zone is designed to support the effective use of maps, historical materials, and visual resources in the classroom. For example, the large lecture classroom is equipped with a glass blackboard that functions both as a writable surface and as a projection screen for multimedia presentations. This advanced educational environment is among the most innovative learning facilities in Hokkaido. |

Japanese Language Arts Zone
|
To help students become effective communicators, Japanese language classes emphasize collaborative discussion and expressive activities. Depending on the learning objectives, classroom layouts and learning styles vary, allowing students to move freely and exchange ideas within and between groups. Through cooperation and healthy competition, students expand their vocabulary, deepen their thinking, and strengthen their expressive abilities. |

Mathematics Zone
|
Mathematics forms the foundation of scientific learning. In the Mathematics Zone, students engage daily in inquiry-based learning, collaborative problem solving, and mathematical exploration to strengthen logical thinking skills. The classrooms feature wider blackboards for displaying long mathematical formulas clearly, and movable whiteboard partitions that support group discussion and presentations. |

Collaborative Research Spaces |
The science classrooms are designed to maximize the strengths of the school's Cosmo Science Program. Six laboratories are available for physics, chemistry, biology, and earth science, each arranged according to the specific needs of the discipline.
Research rooms and seminar spaces are also provided to encourage collaborative inquiry and discussion among students.
Student projects, science posters, and academic displays are regularly exhibited throughout the Science Zone.
English Zone

English classes are organized into two stages: “input,” where students develop understanding of vocabulary, grammar, and content, and “output,” where students communicate ideas in their own words. Rather than relying solely on lecture-style instruction, classes emphasize active learning through skill training, pair work, and group activities focused on reading, listening, writing, and speaking. This student-centered approach helps students develop both English proficiency and communication skills. |
Creating a Comfortable Learning Environment
One of the school's key educational goals is to provide a comfortable and inspiring learning environment that supports both academic growth and student well-being.
